A Special Birthday in Bubby's Kitchen!
Find out what's cooking in this week's newsletter.
Dearest Bubby's Kitchen Noshers,
Today is an incredible day of celebration in Bubby's Kitchen because today my hero, an inspiration to me and so many others, Bubby Judith Ginsburg, turns 91 years young!
A little bit about Bubby:
Bubby Judith Ginsburg was born Yudis Kosczzanska on January 6, 1925 in Lida, Poland (now Bellarus.) One of five children, four girls and one boy, Judith was the only member of her immediate family to survive the Holocaust. Judith survived the war by living and fighting in the forest as a member of both the Raschinsky and Bielski Paritsan units. In 1945 she married Motke Ginsburg, also a Partisan who fought in the Russian unit, Iskra. They spent four years in Ferenvald, a Displaced Persons camp in Germany where they had their first two children, Howard and Riva. Judith and her family immigrated to Troy, NY in 1949 and had two more children, Fran and Sheri. There they began a new life focusing on creating a beautiful and vibrant family. Now a permanent resident in Coconut Creek, Florida, Judith is the proud Bubby to ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, the newest one was born JUST YESTERDAY! (Another major mazal tov!)
Bubby is featured today on the Jewish Partisans Educational Foundations FB page in honor of her birthday, you can check it out here
If you want to write a Happy Birthday message to Bubby yourself, post onehere on the Bubby's Kitchen Facebook page and they'll all be read to her tonight at her birthday dinner!
And lastly, the other big news on the street is that Bubby's Kitchen is-a-coming to New York City April 28, 29, and 30! For more information and to purchase tickets click here!
Sending lots of love and best wishes for a wonderful 2016!
xoxo Shira
