About Bubby Yudis Ginsburg
Bubby - Judith Ginsburg was born Yudis Kosczzanska on January 6, 1925 in Lida, Poland (now Bellarus.) One of five children, four girls and one boy, Judith was the only member of her immediate family to survive the Holocaust. Judith survived the war by living and fighting in the forest as a member of both the Raschinsky and Bielski Paritsan units. In 1945 she married Motke Ginsburg, also a Partisan who fought in the Russian unit, Iskra. They spent four years in Ferenvald, a Displaced Persons camp in Germany where they had their first two children, Howard and Riva. Judith and her family immigrated to Troy, NY in 1949 and had two more children, Fran and Sheri. There they began a new life focusing on creating a beautiful and vibrant family. Now a permanent resident in Coconut Creek, Florida, Judith is the proud Bubby to ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She considers herself a very lucky woman to be surrounded by the warm and loving family she and Motke created together.
